Terms of service
What DarkSint gives you, what it asks of you, and the limits on both sides, written to be read, not to be survived.

1. This agreement
These terms govern your use of DarkSint at https://darksint.com, including the API. “DarkSint”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of the service.
By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms, the Responsible Use policy and the Privacy policy. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and “you” means that organisation.
If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
2. What DarkSint does
DarkSint searches credential leaks, dark-web mentions and raw breach files, and reports what it finds about identifiers and domains you are entitled to investigate. Results arrive masked. Revealing a record is a separate, deliberate act that spends credits, and the cost is shown before you spend.
We do not collect or breach anything ourselves. DarkSint queries a third-party leak-data source and presents what that source returns. We choose not to name that source publicly; that choice does not change your rights under these terms.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Give accurate registration details and keep them current.
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including everything your API keys do. Keep your password and keys secret, enable two-factor authentication, and tell us promptly if you believe your account is compromised.
Accounts are for one person or one organisation. Sharing credentials so that others can use a single paid seat is a breach of these terms.
4. Acceptable use
The Responsible Use policy forms part of these terms and sets out what you may and may not search for, and what you must do with anything you reveal. In short: only exposure you own or are authorised to investigate, never to attempt access, never resold.
We log every search against the account that ran it and may suspend accounts that appear to be breaking that policy.
5. Plans, credits and limits
- Plans
- Each plan carries a daily search allowance, a rate limit, a credit allocation and a set of enabled features. Current plans and prices are on the pricing page.
- Credits
- A credit reveals one masked record. The cost is previewed before you spend. Credits are reserved when a reveal starts and returned automatically if it comes back partial or fails.
- Renewal
- Credit allocations are granted per billing period and do not carry over unless the plan says so. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- Limits
- When you reach a limit the service tells you which one and when it lifts. We may adjust limits to protect the service, and will give notice before reducing anything you are paying for.
Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and are not redeemable for money.
6. Payment
Paid plans are sold through Paddle, our merchant of record: it runs checkout, issues invoices, collects applicable sales taxes and processes payment refunds, under its buyer terms alongside these terms.
The price, billing period (monthly or yearly) and any tax are shown before you pay. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. Plan credits are added month by month, on yearly plans too.
A plan change takes effect at once and is prorated for the rest of the period. Moving up adds the extra credits for the rest of the current month; moving down refunds the unused part of the period and withdraws the bigger plan's unused credits for the current month, as far as they are still in your balance. Refunds and cancellation follow the Refunds policy.
7. Accuracy of results
Leak data is inherently incomplete and imperfect. A clean report means nothing was found in the sources available to us. It is not proof that you have not been exposed. Equally, a record may be old, already remediated, or wrong.
Treat DarkSint as one signal in your security process, not as a verdict. We do not warrant that results are complete, current or accurate, and you should verify before acting on anything consequential.
8. Your data
What you search, and what you reveal, is yours. Revealed records are encrypted at rest and are visible only to your account. We do not sell your data and we do not use the content of your searches to market to you.
We process personal data as described in the Privacy policy. You keep any rights you have in the material you upload or generate; you grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you.
9. Availability
We aim to keep DarkSint available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we reasonably can. We do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you need one, talk to us before you rely on the service.
Parts of the service depend on a third-party data source. When that source is slow or unavailable, searches may fail with a clear error rather than a wrong answer. We do not charge credits for a reveal that fails.
10. Suspension and termination
You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and you keep access until then.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Responsible Use policy, that we are legally required to close, or that puts the service or the shared data source at risk. For a serious breach we may act immediately and without refund.
On closure your access ends and your data is deleted in line with the retention periods in the Privacy policy. You can ask us to delete your account sooner by writing to support@darksint.com.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss arising from your use of, or failure to act on, information the service returned. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You are responsible for how you use what the service reveals, and you will cover us for claims arising from your breach of these terms or of the Responsible Use policy.
12. Changes
We may change these terms as the service changes. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the product before they take effect. Continuing to use DarkSint after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current period.
13. Resolving disputes
Before starting a formal dispute, contact us so we can try to resolve it promptly. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
