Paddle is the merchant of record for every purchase: it takes payment, issues invoices, handles tax and processes payment refunds.

Subscription refunds
If DarkSint is not what you needed, ask within 14 days of a charge and we will refund that charge in full. No argument, no questionnaire. This applies to your first payment and to each renewal.
After 14 days we do not refund the current period as a matter of course, but tell us what went wrong. If the service failed you, through sustained downtime or a defect that blocked the work you paid for, we would rather fix the bill than argue about the policy.
One exception, and it is the honest one: if you have already spent a substantial part of the period's credits revealing records, we will refund the unused portion rather than the whole charge. You keep what you revealed.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not cut you off immediately. You keep full access, and your remaining credits, until the end of the period you have already paid for.
There is no cancellation fee and no notice period. When the period ends the account drops to the Free plan; it is not deleted, and your history and revealed records stay until you delete them.
Credits
A credit reveals one masked record. Once a reveal has succeeded, that credit is spent and is not refundable: we paid the upstream cost of the lookup and you received the data.
Unused credits from a period you are refunded are simply cancelled with it. Credits have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred, or paid out.
Moving to a smaller plan refunds the unused part of the period pro rata, and the bigger plan's unused credits for the current month are withdrawn, as far as they are still in your balance.
Reveals that fall short refund themselves
You should never have to ask for this one. Credits are reserved when a reveal starts, not deducted. If the reveal fails, or returns fewer records than it reserved for, the difference returns to your balance automatically, usually before you have noticed.
The same applies when the upstream source is unavailable: the search fails with a clear error and costs you nothing.
If your ledger ever disagrees with what you actually received, tell us and we will correct it.
How to ask
Email support@darksint.com from the address on the account, with the date of the charge. You do not need to justify a request inside the 14-day window.
We answer refund requests within 5 working days. Once approved, the money is returned to the original payment method; how quickly it lands is up to your bank, typically 5–10 working days.
Statutory rights
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. Because DarkSint gives you access immediately, you are asked to agree that performance starts at once; even so, our own 14-day policy above gives you at least the same outcome, so you never need to argue the distinction.
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under the consumer law that applies where you live.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback freezes the account while it is investigated and takes weeks; an email usually takes a day.
We may suspend an account with an unresolved chargeback until it is settled.
